General:
The Pastor of Administration and Church Ministries is employed as a full-time staff member and is directly accountable to the Board of Elders. The incumbent also serves as an Elder and is primarily responsible for 1) assisting the Senior Pastor in nurturing the spiritual life of the body and 2) guiding/enabling members in fulfilling the mission of the Byfield Parish Church, to take Christ to the world, to nurture, equip, and mature Gods people, and to live to the glory of God.
Minimum Characteristics and Qualifications:
1. Personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
2. Will become a member of Byfield Parish Church within first year of holding position.
3. This individual must manifest the following characteristics (1 Tim. 3: 1-7) especially;
a. Above reproach and characterized by a cordial and decisive attachment to the service of the church; a mind intent upon the work; a heart filled with love
b. Hospitable: consistently showing love, kindness, and compassion to all.
c. Prudent: one of sound mind, thoughtful, of sound judgment, mature in action
d. Gentle, uncontentious: not quick tempered or prone to fighting, knowing how to disagree without being disagreeable.
e. Respectable: orderly and proper.
f. Able to teach: holds to and can articulate a proper, biblical theology, exhort in sound doctrine and refute those who contradict.
4. Must exhibit maturity, responsibility, humility, leadership and strong character such as to motivate and mobilize the body to ministry.
5. Must embrace the Reformed Theological Foundations of the Faith.
Desirable Characteristics and Qualifications:
1. Prior leadership experience working in a church, with concentration in administration and fellowship within the body.
2. Prior pastoral experience.
3. Ordained, licensed or commissioned within the denomination.
Accountability and Evaluation:
The Pastor of Administration and Church Ministries will be responsible for the following administrative tasks:
1. Submit written quarterly reports to the Church Council.
2. Submit written annual reports for the annual Church Meeting.
3. Meet regularly with the Senior Pastor to plan & facilitate church ministries.
4. Meet weekly with the Board of Elders.
5. Meet regularly (as a minimum, annually) with other designated elders to assess incumbents performance within the position and any change in position responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Pastor of Administration and Church Ministries broadly fall into three (3) main categories. These categories are as follows, listed in priority order; administration, pastoral, and teaching.
1. Administration
a. Lead and coordinate small group ministry
i. oversight of program, recruit/train leaders
b. Lead adult Sunday School program
i. coordinate adult education program
c. Member of UCC Ministry Team
d. Lead administrative programs/ministries
i. new members class
ii. church office/staff administration (schedule/lead staff meetings)
iii. church retreat planning/special events
iv. Byfield Parish Press/web site oversight
e. Facilitate integration between established church ministries
i. Communication across boards and committees
2. Pastoral
a. Coordinate the visitation program
i. Document, record and contact visitors/new members
ii. Visit sick, needy, those needing encouragement
iii. Enlist other members in BPC visitation team
b. Greet new attendees, encourage membership.
c. Function as liaison to women and men's ministry teams
d. Shepherd the congregation
i. Spiritual direction/conflict resolution
3. Teaching.
a. Participate in weekly worship services.
i. Assist on platform with Sr Pastor, lead when Sr Pastor is away
b. Prepare and deliver sermons
i. Only as required to fill-in for Sr Pastor
c. Conduct/officiate at weddings, funerals
d. Propose Bible study topics/teach Bible study classes
e. Mentoring seminary students

The following compensation package is preliminary and is provided to allow an assessment of the general type and range of compensation. This is not a guarantee for compensation as the final compensation package must be reviewed and approved by the Byfield Parish Church prior to any commitments to any candidates;
